The department includes general sociology, medical sociology, social
work, school social work, criminology, and criminal justice programs,
each of which has a coordinator appointed by the chairman.
Environmental sociology and anthropology are developing areas within
the department.

- 1993: (Part-time/Evening Program) Faculty Resource Person and Area
Mentor for the Security Management graduate program (formerly the
Administration of Justice Program), Webster University (on-site
appointment at Pope Air Force Base, N.C.). Activities included
assisting in the conceptual development and implementation of the new
program in Security Management.

- 1990: Founding Editor and Executive Editor, The Justice Professional
(journal), Wyndham Hall Press, Bristol, Indiana. The Justice
Professional publishes articles in the areas of criminal justice
education, ethics, professionalism, and security administration and
management.
